Prof. Dinh Phung

Dinh Phung is a Professor and Head, Department of Data Science and AI, Monash University, Australia. His research interests broadly cover machine learning and artificial intelligence, including the young mathematics field of optimal transport applied to AI. He has published about 300 technical research papers, won numerous awards including the KDD Best Student Paper Award last year with his student. He was the Finalist for the prestigious Australian Museum Eureka Prize for Excellence in Data Science in 2020 and the current Editor-In-Chief for the living edition of the Encyclopedia in Machine Learning and Data Science and recipient of the 2024 Distinguished Contribution Award from the 16th Asian Conference on Machine Learning.
