Prof. PhD. Ngoc Thanh Nguyen received the degrees of Ph.D., D.Sc., the titles of Poland State Professor and Vietnam State Professor in Computer Science in 1990, 2002, 2009, and 2011, respectively. He is currently a full Professor of Wroclaw University of Sciences and Technology and the Head of Department of Applied Informatics. His research interests consist, among others, of collective intelligence and knowledge engineering. He is now a member of the State Council for Professorship of Poland and a member of the Committee on Informatics of the Polish Academy of Science. He has received the title of Honorary Professor of Nguyen Tat Thanh University in Vietnam and has been a visiting professor at many universities, such as Friedrich-Alexander University and Muenster University (Germany), Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Japan Advanced Institute of Sciences and Technology (Japan), Yeungnam University (Korea), University of Technology Sydney (Australia), National Kaohsiung University (Taiwan) and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain).He is the Chair of IEEE SMC Technical Committee on Computational Collective Intelligence. He received the title of Distinguished Scientist and Distinguished Speaker of ACM (USA), and Distinguished Visitor of IEEE (USA). He is the Editor-in-Chief of Transactions on Computational Collective Intelligence (Springer), Vietnam Journal of Computer Sciences (World Scientific) and Journal of Information and Telecommunication (Taylor & Francis). He is also a Deputy Editor-in-Chief of several prestigious international journals, among others, of IEEE Transactions on System, Man and Cybernetics (IEEE) and Applied Intelligence (Springer). He was a General Chair or Program Chair at over 50 international conferences. Prof. PhD. Ngoc Thanh Nguyen is an author of 2 European patents in information systems. He has headed a number of research projects funded by EU programs like COST, DAAD, Polonor and National Foundation of Research and Development. He serves as an expert at the National Center of Research and Development and at the European Commission in evaluating research projects in programs such as MSCA-IF, REA-FET, EUREKA and COST. He has given 25 plenary and keynote speeches for international conferences, and more than 50 invited lectures in many countries. He has published 46 books and more than 500 journal and conference papers. He has been the advisor to 16 Ph.D. students in Poland and as well as in Vietnam National University and Yeungnam University (Korea).
Prof. PhD. Ngoc Thanh Nguyen was awarded by the Polish President with the Gold Medal of Merit in 2021. He received the scientific award of IEEE SMC society (USA) in 2020. He is in the TOP 2% of most-cited authors, according to Stanford University and Elsevier.
