SIU Prize is a biennial award managed by the Saigon International University (SIU) and sponsored by the Group of Asian International Education (GAIE), valuing 10 billion VND/season and allocated to 2 fields.
In celebration of the exceptional talents among recent doctoral graduates worldwide who are Vietnamese or of Vietnamese descent, SIU proudly presents the SIU Prize. Awarded in the fields of Computer Science and Health Sciences, the SIU Prize looks for exemplary doctoral theses successfully defended within the last 5 years prior to the deadline of the nomination process, based on the conferral date of the doctoral degree.. These theses will be the basis on which solutions for groundbreaking inventions and innovations are developed, with the potential of outstanding contributions for a better life.
The professional members of the SIU Prize Committee and SIU Prize Council include leading national and international professors, scientists, and experts in the relevant fields. SIU Prize promises to bring together excellent theses from hundreds of world-renowned universities, institutes, and academies.
There are stages of nomination, evaluation, selection, and result announcement, which will be overseen by the leading national and international professors, scientists, and experts in the relevant fields. Therefore, the winning doctoral theses shall certainly be outstanding, disruptive works of world-class quality.
Every 2 years, SIU Prize seeks for the deserving winners of 5 awards in each field (including one First Prize, one Second Prize, one Third Prize, and two Honorable Mentions). Sponsored by the Group of Asian International Education (GAIE), the total awards value 10 billion VND.
The awards will also provide important initial capital to support the young winners with their creative endeavors, continuing to develop their excellent theses into practical solutions.
In addition to honoring Vietnamese intellectual excellence, SIU Prize is also the first effort to network participants and winners with domestic and foreign intellectuals, working towards developmental solutions for Vietnam and the world.
SIU Prize is expected to be a catalyst for promoting and facilitating the “realization” of excellent doctoral thesis projects, contributing to global innovations, and generating a sustainable and better world in the future.
