For Vietnamese intellectual excellence

Vision:

In celebration of the exceptional talents among recent doctoral graduates worldwide who are Vietnamese or of Vietnamese descent, SIU proudly presents the SIU Prize. Awarded biennially in the fields of Computer Science and Health Sciences, the SIU Prize carries a monetary award for each recipient. The prize serves as a platform for these outstanding individuals to evolve their theses into innovative and impactful solutions for Vietnam and the global community. It also helps foster more collaboration between Vietnamese intellectuals and scientists, researchers, and inventors from across the globe.

Fields of Award

Sponsored by the Group of Asian International Education (GAIE), SIU Prize is a biennial event with total awards valuing 10 billion VND, allocated to the 2 fields (each field 5 billion VND) of Health Sciences and Computer Science.

About GAIE

Established in 1999, GAIE is considered the first and most renowned international-standard education system in Vietnam, encompassing primary, middle & high school, as well as college and higher education, in addition to the research facility, comprising the following members: the Asian School, the Institute of Asian Studies (IAS), and the Saigon International University (SIU).

As of December 2022, GAIE boasts: 87,509 students and alumni from 28 countries and territories around the world studying at 16 campuses and 7 other projects under construction; 105 domestic and foreign enterprises supporting SIU’s internship programs; over 2,200 Vietnamese and foreign teachers and staff members with Bachelor’s degrees, Master’s degrees, and Doctorates, holding the titles of associate professor and professor; 2,803 students studying abroad at 492 schools in 22 countries across 4 continents.

The Saigon International Education (SIU) was established following the Decision by the Prime Minister in 2007. SIU is a member of premier higher education accreditation organizations in the U.S., such as the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Our university was officially accredited by IACBE as meeting international standards, and by the Vietnam Ministry of Education & Training as meeting the national standards for educational institutions and for the two programs of English Language and Computer Science.

SIU aims to “become the leading international university in Vietnam to follow the global education trends” and thus focuses on promoting partnerships with prestigious universities around the globe such as Suffolk University – Boston – U.S.A., Truman State University – Missouri – U.S.A., Ritsumeikan University and Asia Pacific University – Japan, Buckinghamshire New University and Huddersfield University – U.K., Dankook University – South Korea…

In celebration of the exceptional talents among recent doctoral graduates worldwide who are Vietnamese or of Vietnamese descent, SIU proudly presents the SIU Prize. The inaugural season of the SIU Prize, which takes place in 2023 looks for exemplary doctoral theses successfully defended within the last 5 years prior to the deadline of the nomination process, based on the conferral date of the doctoral degree.
